Birchwood Cottage Gallery and Tearoom

19/09/2014
Birchwood Cottage Gallery and Tearoom lies just outside St Andrews in a beautiful setting with stunning views over the old town to the northern hills. The gallery and tearoom are run by Margaret and Walter Watson with all profits from the tearoom going to charity, currently Mary’s Meals and the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland.
The gallery comprises three rooms showing work by over 20 artists, many of whom live in the area. Displays of original artwork, prints, jewellery, stone work, glassware, ceramics and cards make for a lovely, relaxed gallery space. Walter, one of the exhibiting artists, is usually to be found painting in a little corner of the gallery. A proportion of the gallery commission also goes to the two charities mentioned above.
The tearoom combines a superb vista over the old town with home baking, freshly ground coffee and speciality teas in a timeless and friendly atmosphere.
The gallery can be viewed by appointment at any mutually convenient time (t 01334 208220) while both gallery and tearoom are open from Friday to Sunday, 10 am till 4 pm, every weekend from Easter to Christmas.
There is ample parking space available together with facilities for the disabled comprising designated parking space, ramp access and toilet.
